- Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per annum + 14% super

Are you a culinary leader looking for a role with real purpose? We are seeking a dedicated Chef Manager to lead a vital social enterprise in a remote community. This is a unique opportunity to improve the health and economic development of local members while managing high-quality hospitality operations.
In this role, you will mentor a local team, oversee Chef excellence, and ensure this service remains a cornerstone of the community's well-being.
About your next role
You will oversee the daily operations of the Chef and associated "Mini Motel" accommodation. Your responsibilities include:
- Undertaking the day-to-day running of Chef operations and stock control.
- Supervising and supporting the Chef Supervisor and general staff.
- Maintaining strict food safety standards and premises maintenance.
- Managing administrative tasks including rosters and stock ordering.
- Sourcing new catering contracts and identifying business expansion opportunities.
- Calculating and processing payments for both the Chef and accommodation.
- Providing hands-on training and assessing the skill development of program participants.
What you will need to bring
We are looking for a resilient leader who thrives in unique environments. You will need:
- Proven experience in hospitality management and commercial Chef environments.
- Strong experience in food preparation, hygiene standards, and inventory control.
- Excellent leadership skills to mentor and motivate a diverse team.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in remote Aboriginal communities is viewed favorably.
Mandatory Requirements
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality
- Safe Food Handling Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate
- Would prefer someone who has worked in remote areas or camp sites
- Must have experience managing a team
- Ability to obtain and maintain an NT driving license.
- Willingness to travel to remote communities via vehicle or small light aircraft.
- Note: Third-party aviation safety guidelines require passengers to weigh no more than 140kg.
